How to Book an Appointment
Before we can book an appointment for you, we will need a requisition from any Physician or Specialist. You or your Physician can fax the requisition to our office. We will contact you once we have reviewed your requisition to book your appointment.

What You Need to Know Before Your Appointment
If you have had a previous accident where a metallic fragment has gone into your eye or if you have had recent exposure to metal slivers (such as machinists) and are unsure, consult with your physcian. In some cases orbital x-rays may be required prior to your appointment. It is very important that the eyes are free of any metallic particles before an MRI scan.
You cannot receive an MRI if you have any of the following:
- Cardiac Pacemaker
- Cochlear Implants (non MR Conditional)
- Aneurysm Clips
- Weight exceeding 350 lbs
- Patients under the age of 16 who would require the injection of a contrast agent
Your MRI Appointment
In most cases, no special preparation is needed for your MRI. We will let you know at the time of booking if fasting is required. Take any prescribed medication as usual, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.
When you arrive for your MRI appointment you will need to fill out some information at the front desk. Our technologist will discuss this information with you, explain the procedure, and answer any questions you might have. A short video is available if you would like a more visual description. Comfortable loungewear will be provided, or if you wish, you can bring your own metal free clothing.
Once changed, you will be positioned onto the MRI bed by our technologist. We will ask you to remain as still as possible during the exam to ensure the best quality images.
The MRI exam itself is painless, you won't feel a thing. The machine does make a loud knocking noise during the procedure. We will provide you with earplugs and, depending on the type of exam you are having, you may listen to music.
The length of your exam will depend on the type of study your doctor has ordered. In many cases, patients are scanned and on their way home within an hour. Our Radiologist will review the images from your exam and a detailed report of the findings will be faxed to your Physician within 2 business days.
Because Image One MRI's Radiologist is not familiar with your complete medical history, it is in your best interest to discuss your diagnostic imaging needs and exam results with your own doctor. There will not be an opportunity during your appointment for a consultation with our Radiologist.
If you have any previous exam results, X-Ray films or CD's that will pertain to your MRI exam, please bring them with you to your appointment. |
