Image One MRI is proud to support local research by participating in many Alzheimer’s Disease clinical research trials. There are some very promising new medications for the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease. Patients who decide to enter into a research study will receive an MRI for a couple of different reasons. A “screening” MRI is performed to rule out other conditions that may cause symptoms like those of Alzheimer’s. Once the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s can be clearly made, MRI’s are performed on a regular basis to ensure that the medication is not causing any undesired effects.
If you or someone you know is experiencing memory and other cognitive issues, talk to your physician. If you are interested in participating in a research trial, contact one of the research facilities who are involved with Alzheimer’s research.
